Common Questions About Our Personal Training Experience:
Q: How many times a week should I train with a trainer?
A: Every client has different needs and different circumstances. You can train with us anywhere from 1 to 4 times per week, but not matter if you train with us once a week and do other workouts at home or at a low cost gym or if you train three or four times a week with us, we design a fitness program that works for your goals, your lifestyle, your body. We are 100% committed to your success.
Q: Do I have to be in shape to start training with you?
A: No. Many of our clients have never worked out before starting their personal training experience and we love that we get to be the coaches that help them discover the joy of movement and living a healthy life.
Q: What makes you different from any other personal trainer?
A: For years I had no clue how to answer this question because I’ve just always been me and past on what I do to the rest of my training team, so I asked my current and past clients that same question and here are a few quotes from them.
“Robin makes everything simple and makes you feel confident that you can do it for life. It’s not just about working out it’s about living a healthy lifestyle.” Meghan B. -38- Mom, Legal Assistant
“When Robin said it’s ok to have fitness revolve around your life and not become it, I was so relieved that I wasn’t coming to see another hardcore trainer who grinds you into a pulp. He really cares and gets that I don’t want to spend my life in a gym.” Pat -39- Accountant
“I’ve been to other trainers before, no one was treated me like so well. His unique habits based approach really makes things clear and simple. I have been able to build new habits and break old ones and change my life thanks to his methods.” Dave -63- Retired Lawyer
Q: How Long Are Sessions?
A: Personal training sessions are 45 minutes long. Our philosophy is quality over quantity. After about the 11th year in business we realized that 60minutes was just too long for most. Even my own workouts are around the 45 minute mark. So we started experimenting with clients at 45minutes and saw an increase in results and enjoyment of the workouts.
Q: What does a workout look like?
A: It’s hard to answer this one specifically because every client is different and we create custom programs for each client. But here is what you can expect
Your program will start only after we have properly assessed your goals, your lifestyle and your body’s current ability. From there a typical workout session flows as follows:
- Warm Up movements and soft tissue work to prepare the body for a great workout and iron out any “kinks” you might have that day.
- Core work to activate the muscles that aid in posture and spine stability (aka real world injury prevention)
- Strength work based on your needs and what goals you have
- Conditioning work based on your needs and what goals you have
Q: Do you give me a meal plan?
A: Nutrition is so much more than a “done-for-you” meal plan. In all honesty a meal plan given typically doesn’t work long term. Instead we help you develop healthy eating habits that serve you for life in any situation, something that a meal plan can’t do. Along with building the right habits to reach your goals for life, we do help you develop a structure that works for you and sometimes that does involve working with you to develop a flexible plan that suits your life.
