Hi! My name is Erin, and this picture is of me, “before” and “during” my health and wellness journey with Robin Mungal Fitness. I say “during” because one of the most important lessons I have learned from Rob is that the changes I am making for the rest of my life…let me tell you a bit about why I am beyond excited about that.
When I first started with Robin Mungal Fitness, we talked a lot about the importance of changing my mindset. He quickly informed me that my success on this journey was going to start with my brain and (as usual) he was SO right.
My entire history with diet and exercise had been fueled by life-long negative self-talk. My inner voice (combined with a constant barrage of damaging media messages) was an endless loop of “can’t”, “bad”, “not worth it” and “you are going to fail”. This loop wore a deep groove in my brain and heart, something that needed help to heal before I could make lasting changes.
My sessions with Rob began with a plan to integrate exercise and healthy meal choices into my routine; and also involved me recognizing and documenting my succeses. We called this “Erin’s Big Book of Victories” and it has been an integral part of my journey. No matter how small the accomplishment, if I felt that it was something that needed recognition…it went in the book.
One entry that stands out particularly for me reads, “Realized today that I have not cried about my weight in months”. Wow. There are a few moments along this journey so far that have been especially poignant and this is a big one. To be free from tear-filled nights and emotionally driven binges; now replaced with energizing workouts, healthy food choices, motivating training sessions and major life-changing victories (mental and physical) has, and continues to be worth absolutely everything to me.
Today (80lbs lighter!!) I am excited to amp up my journey and get to the next level. I am excited that Rob told me recently that the exercises I was performing were for “athletic” people (what?!? I am athletic? Shut the front door!). And I am so proud that my young son associates me with healthy choices, “time to workout now mommy?” as he rolls out my workout mat for me. These are the things that I would have never been able to achieve without expert guidance, trust me I tried.
It took me a long time to believe that I was worthy of the time, money and effort but today I can honestly say that investing in sessions with Robin Mungal Fitness was the best thing I could have ever done. The support and dedication he and his stellar team provide to their clients is invaluable.
